From the first day working with Steve and Sally Schmitz, my experience was overwhelmingly positive. During our first visit with Steve, we felt immediately that his priority was to help us to find the home that we could be happy with and do that with integrity and honesty. As our search progressed, I always felt comfortable asking Steve any and all questions related to the market, specifics about neighborhoods/communities, the home buying process and many more topics that came up along the way. When I found a house that I was interested in seeing, Steve and Sally made every effort to get us in quickly which was crucial in this seller's market. Ultimately, we purchased a home that Steve brought to our attention before it had even hit the market. That type of service is just one of the many benefits of working with a realtor who has years of experience and an extensive professional network in the Twin Cities. As a first time homebuyer, I felt very confident placing my trust in Steve and Sally to help us navigate drafting our purchase agreement, finding a reputable home inspector and even helping after the closing with next steps to establish successful homeownership. Finding a realtor who is trustworthy, knowledgeable, thorough and fun to be around is a rarity. I would recommend Steve and Sally Schmitz to anyone who is looking for a home in the Twin Cities.
My wife and I were referred to Steve by a friend and we could not be more happy with Steve's style and skill set. We were on a time crunch to find a home and Steve made the process very efficient enough fun. Steve did not pressure us in any way and he was very honest throughout the process, even if it meant pointing out a potential flaw in a house that we really liked. We appreciated that honesty and expertise that Steve provided-this allowed us to avoid making any risky decisions. Steve would always try to point out the positives and describe what a house could become, if it needed a little work. That helped us stretch our budget further. When it came time to submit an offer and negotiate, Steve performed very well and he always kept us informed during that stage, even if we were still waiting on an answer. In summary, we would highly recommend Steve for your real estate needs. For our next home purchase, Steve is our guy!
Steve is everything a buyer or seller could want in an agent. We purchased our first home, sold our first home, and then bought our second home all with Steve by our side and on our side. He knows his stuff, isn't afraid to speak up and be a voice of reason when needed, but ultimately lets you control your own buying or selling process. I have learned a lot about the Twin Cities market and how to approach a home sale and purchase process from Steve's wealth of knowledge. Also, if you want a light-hearted and fun approach to home buying or selling. Steve is your guy. Steve cares about his clients as people, not just as a bottom line number. Oh, and you may even (you will) be invited to the annual Coldwell Banker Burnet holiday party and leave with a goody or two, and who doesn't like that? Seriously, call Steve. You won't regret it!
We started working with Steve close to 10 years ago. He was listing a house in the neighborhood we really admired. We had such a positive first impression after talking with Steve, we agreed to have him represent us in the purchase of the very same home - trust indeed! A few weeks later, Steve sold the home we owned to the first couple who visited at full price! 10 years later, Steve listed and sold that home again for us. Though he gets great results, his true gifts are great insight into the current market, a sharp wit and a truly professional demeanor with regard to communication. We hope to work with Steve again - we encourage buyers and sellers both to sit down and have a conversation with Steve. We believe you will understand our great respect and appreciation for his character and professional expertise.
My spouse and I worked with Steve based on the recommendation of some family members. Steve knew the areas we were looking in well, and as first time home buyers, guided us through the process. While we actually didn't end up needing to meet with him a lot as we found the house we wanted early on and our offer was accepted with only a little back and forth, Steve did go the extra mile in helping us do the negotiating and such on a very tight timeline, while we were out of the country. He also made us feel secure throughout the process, with the offer amount, adjustments, inspection, etc. He's a nice and trustworthy guy and that showed throughout. Would highly recommend him!
We are excited to start working with Steve once again, on our 4th transaction with him. He is professional (but fun! Or is that fun, but professional) as well as graciously generous with his vast knowledge of the process and insights on the market. He is nimble and supportive through the inevitable twists and turns in the needs of his clients. Two home sales, two home purchases, with the possibilities covering all corners of the metro area in the last 16 years. We have no reason to consider working with anyone but Steve, and have no hesitation in encouraging anyone else to do the same!
We have had the opportunity to work with Steve on several occasions - going back to 1995. He has expert knowledge on the housing market in the Minneapolis area and we trust Steve as if he were a member of our own family. He has provided consultation to us on a number of house projects (in terms of resale value) in addition to making recommendations on the right time to sell our home. I would highly recommend Steve for both buying and/or selling a home. Steve has a great sense of humor (which helps during the listing period), strong faith and a commitment to his own family.
We can't recommend Steve enough. As first time homebuyers Steve was very patient and helpful in guiding us through the home buying process. Steve helped us put together a couple of offers and each time we felt confident that we put forward our best offer. Once one of our offers was accepted Steve made recommendations for home inspections services, and helped guide us through transfer of utilities, home insurance, and the like. We would absolutely recommend Steve to experienced and first-time home buyers - not only a great realtor but a stellar guy!
Steve and Sally were absolutely incredible to work with. He sold our townhouse in 3 days! When we were finding a new home, he was as picky as we were. Steve is thoughtful, has his client's best interest at heart, is incredibly knowledgeable, and he always had the time to answer our million questions with grace. The cherry on top was he gave us a delicious gift basket full of crackers, cheeses, and champagne when we sold our house, and then gave us adorable personalized stationary and door mat when we bought our new house! He seriously is the best!
Steve is an expert at what he does. Throughout the home buying and selling process, he demonstrated time and again that I could trust him implicitly. He was patient throughout the process and made our interaction fun. He works incredibly hard and doesn't shy away from a negotiation. He always had my best interests in mind. Steve is the best and I'd recommend him over and over again.
Steve was the listing agent on a home a client of mine purchased in South Minneapolis. The buyer had some credit issue and I was the 2nd lender to work on the file. Steve’s professionalism and understanding of the entire mortgage and home sale process was second to none. I would highly recommend Steve to anyone looking to buy or sell a home in the Twin Cities.
Steve is a fantastic realtor that knows how to navigate the Minnesota markets. I purchased my first home with Steve and thought he provided excellent insight and resources for purchasing. I would recommend Steve to anyone and felt like he gave me a competitive advantage when it came to negotiating with the seller in a tight market.
Steve was always there when we needed him, answered all of our questions in a timely fashion, made the whole process super easy. He was willing to drive out to all the houses we wanted to see even though they were further out from the Twin Cities area.
